Application Requirements

To complete your application, please ensure you have the following items prepared:

  1. Hunt Codes
    Applicants must provide the hunt codes for the specific hunts they wish to apply for. Hunt codes for all FTWG-offered hunts are listed below.


GMU 18 should be your first listed in the draw

Muzzleloader Elk: E-M-018-O1-M (Bull), E-E-018-O1-M (Either Sex)

  1. Hunter Education Certification
    A valid hunter safety certificate is required.
  2. Valid Payment Method
    A credit card is required to apply for a small fee. If successfully drawn, a larger payment will be withdrawn to purchase your tag.
  3. Email Address
    A current and accessible email address is required for communication and account setup.

First-Time License Applicants
Individuals purchasing a Colorado fishing or hunting license for the first time must create an account through the Colorado Parks and Wildlife system. Upon completion, a Customer Identification Number (CID) will be issued.

If you encounter any issues while completing the application process on the CPW website, please contact a CPW office directly to speak with a representative for assistance.

Non-Resident Requirements
Non-resident applicants must purchase a qualifying license prior to applying for a hunting tag or preference point. The most economical qualifying option is typically an annual small game license.

SUMMER ADVENTURES

Day Trips (Summertime) Pricing
Horseback Trail Ride $250 per person (2 minimum)
Backcountry Fishing $400 per person (2 person minimum) or $600 for single person
